,

Social Media Platform Policy: Do you have one?
by Robert Tornabene

So you are your Organizations Social Media Manager? So have you thought through how you will address content posted to one of your Social Media Platforms? Do you have criteria? Is there a procedure or practice in place to address issues such as sales, promotions, solicitations or inappropriate content? How do you make that policy available to your follows, fans, and posters to you platforms? These are all questions that all need to be addressed in order to have a well rounded and safe approach to your organizations Social Media Platforms.

Any Organization utilizing Social Media should have clear guidelines laid out and available to the public. These guidelines would address issues that followers, likers, or users to your Social Media Platforms would need to abide by. They provide standards of conduct, which in the event an issues were to arise for specific types of behavior you can address them.

You first should define what your Organizations Social Media Policy defines, what is acceptable, what is not. A Social Media Manager should plan to routinely post a link to their Social Media Policy. These posts should be across all your Social Media Platforms.

What your Social Media policy should have.
  1. It should identify your Organization, as well as your current and active Social Media Platforms.
  2. It should define who to contact regarding your Social Media Platforms. Examples would include your Public Relations/Public Information Officer, Social Media Manager or Freedom of Information Officer.
  3. The Social Media Policy should include key policy issues, Terms of Use, Prohibited Content and Disclaimer.
  4. A small section should also be about links and validity of links. However, it is inherint on the Social Media Manager to check the link to determine if the connected content is not a link

Terms of Use (TOU)

Terms of Use are those areas which define purpose, platform, contact and type of information to be disseminated.

  • This should include identifying the the purpose of the of your Social Media Platforms. For Law Enforcement, Emergency Services, Local Governments, and Non Governmental Organizations the primary function will be as a communication too.
  • The TOU may include terms such as raising awareness and information for the general public in and around the community you serve.
  • TOU should indicate what types of information you plan on putting out on your Social Media Platforms. These might include public safety messages, news releases, photos, videos, Amber Alerts, road closures, power outages and other emergency announcements.
  • TOU should also indicate that all of the organizations Social Media Platforms shall comply with all applicable organization policies and procedures.

Prohibited Content:

Prohibited Content defines that all posts are monitored and subject to removal from the site when they violate the defined prohibited content.  Prohibited content can include but is not limited to:

  • Profane language or content
  • Content that promotes, fosters, or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of race, religion, gender, marital status, familial status, national origin, age, mental or physical disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, source of income, or other protected status under applicable law
  • Inappropriate sexual content or links to inappropriate sexual content
  • Solicitations of commerce
  • Conduct or encouragement of illegal activity
  • Private and confidential information
  • Information that may tend to compromise the safety and security of the public or public systems
  • Content that violates a legal ownership interest of any other party
  • Comments in support of or opposition to political campaigns or ballot measures
  • disclaims any and all responsibility and liability for any materials or content that the is deemed inappropriate for posting. The organization shall make efforts to remove said materials in an expeditious or otherwise timely manner, but disclaims liability if circumstances exist that prevent or hinder efforts to remove said materials.

Disclaimer:

A disclaimer is a defensive measure, used generally with the purpose of protection from unwanted
claims or liability.

  • The Organization does not endorse nor otherwise support or sponsor any advertising that may be posted by the Social Media host (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and YouTube) on the organization site. Facebook Page, Twitter, Pinterest and YouTube account are privately operated sites and the privacy terms of each respective site apply.

Link Re-liability & Accuracy:

Link Re-liability simply means that the link connects to its designated location. Link accuracy means that the link actually connects to the identified location, and it not a spoofed link. An example would be a link that would re-direct a user to an inappropriate internet location.

  • The organization does not guarantee the reliability or accuracy of any third-party links.

Content Removal Notice:

This is a simple statement that the organization reserves final say on any comment or interaction that violates the Social Media Policy.

Considerations

Regardless of what layout your provide or what type of format you decide to present to your users, it should be consistent, publicly available and simple understand.

In the event there is a policy violation, present to link to the person, or handle that has violated your policy. Be sure to screen capture to violation and save it before deleting it from your feed or
timeline.

Freedom of Information Act requirements in your specific state may require your organization to retain information that is posted across your Social Media Platforms. You should consult with your organizations legal counsel along with your home states Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) or Records Retention Act for clarification.

Conclusion

By following these simple guidelines organizations can reduce the impact of inappropriate content, links or posts and improve the quality of content to your fan base across all of your Social Media Platforms.

Failure to have a defined policy can result in issues such as allegations of "transparency" failures, concealment and mistrust. In addition, without defined parameters as a primer for both the individual user and the agency it opens the agency up to liability issues.

Happy posting!

diy tattoo henna | Arizona Aryan Brotherhood Story Guest Blog by Ron Duncan

,

diy tattoo henna

In 1987, I was 29, when I was arrested for conspiracy, manufacturing a controlled substance and money laundering. I was looking at 75 years, so my highly paid attorney and I pleaded to simple possession. At that time, Arizona had mandatory minimum sentences, which, in my case, was 4 years.

After spending the usual time in the Maricopa County 4th Avenue jail, I was transferred to the Arizona Department of Corrections Alhambra Unit for classification. I found out I was going to Cimarron Unit, Tucson prison to do my time. Cimarron was a maximum security prison and the hub for the AB aka the Aryan Brotherhood. I thought I wouldnt  leave there alive and could not understand why I was sent there and not to a medium or minimum security prison.

Being led to my cell, I was thinking how tough the next 4 years was going to be. My next shock was meeting my cellmate who told me he was doing 25 to life for murder and if he ever got paroled, California wanted him to do the same for murdering an elderly couple and stealing their Winnebago. I was beside myself, asking more questions in my head but getting few answers.

For the next 9 months, I was involved in a fight at least once a week, not for starting trouble, but for keeping a pack of cigarettes, a pair of Reebok tennis shoes, my TV, weekly store, you name it. I hated having to fight to keep my stuff, and to this day, I can honestly say that I kept everything, with the exception of a few sore ribs, jaw, etc.

During my stay, I had to have surgery on my right wrist. When it was done, I went back to my cell the same day with my hand wrapped the size of a basket ball. Before leaving the hospital, the doctor gave me a shot of Demerol, which I needed badly. I asked him about the pain once the shot wore off and he said he was sending a prescription for some powerful pain killer with the guards. I felt relieved knowing that, however, when I asked for the pain relief, I was told I was in prison, not the streets and to stop whining. It took four days before I could tolerate the pain.

Approximately six weeks later, I had to go to the Medical Unit to get the two 3 x 7 inch pins out of my wrist. There was only a sadistic PA there. I asked if he was going to numb my wrist before pulling the pins out. He laughed, told me to quit acting like a baby and take it like a man. He turned to me and as he did I noticed he had a pair of needle nose pliers in his hand. I told him he wasnt using those on me and his reply was, either get this done or hed call a guard and have me written up for disciplinary action. It took four tries and many extremely painful slips before he finally got them out. He sent me back to my cell without even an aspirin.

I saw two guys die with shanks still in them. One had two in his neck, presumably  because he owed a skinhead $4 for a pack of smokes. The other man  was killed, also by shanks in his neck, right outside of the chow hall. Up until two hours before his death, hed been in protective custody for the past 13 years  because hed  stood by a black mans side in a fight at Florence prison aka The Walls, where the condemned go to die. Anyway, this guy finally decided 13 years was long enough, so hed asked to be released to the general population in another prison. The AB had put a $4000 hit on him 13 years prior. The prison admin agreed, but sent him to Cimarron, and he had no idea till he got there and pleaded with the colonel to send him elsewhere, but the warden had gone home, so his request was denied. An hour later, he was laying on the concrete in front of the chow hall, dead with four shanks in his neck. His body was there for three hours till they called an ambulance to come get him.
Another inmate who was a gynecologist  and had 17 years for assault on his patients was working out at recreation when someone chocked him to death with a bar bell.

In prison, they feed on violence, with a whole world of prison rules and how they live. After about 9 months, the AB finally left me alone.

These are only a few of the activities that went on while I was there. After about a year, I was transferred to a minimum security complex where the same went on but not as frequently.
I was finally free after spending 2 1/2 years in the worst hell I could ever imagine. I never did find out why I was sent to a maximum security prison but I survived, if not a stronger and tougher man, then at least a wiser one.

buy diy tattoo paper | Collagen Supplements Do They Really Work What Does

,

buy diy tattoo paper

????????
Old or young? The difference is collagen
Ive had many patients come to me and say they take excellent care of their skin, with a regimen that includes regular beautician visits, expensive skincare and that latest must-have - collagen supplements. Usually available in a drink, and costing up to USD100 per bottle, these supplements are not cheap, but come with a lot of promises for prolonged beauty and general health.?

Collagen - is it really so important?

Collagen is a natural protein component of the skin that acts like a scaffold and the main building block for cells, tissues and organs. About a third of the protein content in your body is made up of collagen, which is found in the bones, muscles, and tissues of the organs. Collagen, keratin and elastin give the skin its strength, elasticity and structure.

The body naturally produces the collagen that it needs, but this production is gradually disrupted as part of the natural aging process. Women produce less collagen than men, and this collagen is lost at a rate of about 1% per year. This means that a woman has naturally lost almost half of the collagen from her skin by the age of 50.

Collagen is also greatly affected by environmental stresses such as sun exposure, nutrition, skin damage, and exposure to toxins such as pollutants, cigarette smoke and recreational drugs. With decreased collagen, the skin loses its natural elasticity and firmness, and fine lines, wrinkles and sagging appear.

Poor collagen levels also affect the bones, and this picture (right) shows how collagen loss affects facial shape in extreme age degeneration.

Heres to your youth - anti-aging drinks claim to deliver beauty in a bottle, but do they really work?

Collagen supplements claim to offer a range of benefits, including
  • reducing wrinkles
  • reversing age of skin
  • tighter skin
  • plumps up skin
  • improves skin elasticity
The truth is, however, that there is little to no evidence that beauty supplements, pills and drinks can do what they claim. Collagen is a type of protein which when ingested, is broken down by the digestive system into individual amino acids to be recombined by cells according to their needs.

So many companies have jumped on the collagen bandwagon that it is very hard for consumers to realise that there is actually no scientific proof that collagen supplements have any effects on skin health and appearance at all. There is no guarantee that drinking collagen drinks would be any more effective than any source of protein such as meat, cheese, eggs or beans at restoring the collagen in your skin.

So if you cant get collagen through a drink, what about collagen in skin care products? Most collagen molecules applied to the skin in lotion, cream or gel forms are far too large to be absorbed into the dermis - they merely lie on the surface and get washed or rubbed off. There are some companies that are selling micronized collagen which are meant to be small enough to be absorbed into the skin, but it is unlikely these micro molecules would be in any form useable by skin cells. It is also highly likely that any collagen that actually manages to penetrate the skin would be challenged by the bodys immune system as a foreign body. They would either cause an allergic reaction or simply be destroyed by the white blood cells before they manage to be of any benefit to the skin whatsoever.

What really works?

The abundance of collagen supplements on the market tells us that many people are genuinely concerned about their skin health. So, based on the best dermatological and anti-aging expert advice, what can be done to ensure we show up at our 20-year school reunions with our best faces forward?

Reduce collagen degradation
To ensure sufficient collagen in the skin, first prevent loss of the collagen that you already have. If you are not already on a proper sun care regimen, that should be your first priority. Studies have shown that sun protection is one of the most important ways in which you can combat aging. Cigarette smoke, like sun exposure, has also been shown to greatly degenerate collagen, and there is also evidence that improper and insufficient sleep has a negative effect on skin health. Read more about tips for choosing a good sunscreen in this previous post.

A nutritious diet
Eating the right foods and getting good sources of antioxidants from fruits and vegetables is very important for collagen production. Brightly coloured produce such as tomatoes, grapefruit and watermelon contain the powerful antioxidant lycopene, which helps prevent collagen degeneration. Fruits such as oranges, strawberries and red peppers also contain Vitamin C, something that is key for the optimum condition of the skin. Vegetables such as broccoli, leafy greens and cauliflower provide our skin with glucosinolates, which fight the free radicals that attack our collagen. Also key to skin health is the omega-3 fatty acid known as eicosapentanoic acid or EPA, which has anti-oxidative and anti-inflammatory effects to help protect and heal the skin. Omega-3 is readily available from food sources such as oily fish and spirulina. Avoid starchy foods and sugary substances; this helps
reduce inflammation which interferes with the bodys natural collagen production processes.

Proper skin care
The right skin care helps regulate the optimum skin condition so that it is protected from extreme stresses. What works? Regular exfoliation with a gentle exfoliator scrub, or with alphahydroxy acids (AHAs) can help to exercise the skin, and ensure healthy cell renewal. Skin care products that have been proven to help combat aging include products that have antioxidant properties, examples of which include green tea extracts, coffeeberry and DHEA. Try products with retinol, a Vitamin A derivative, sometimes known as Retin-A, which works to both stop collagen degradation from the effects of UV exposure while boosting collagen production.

Collagen Stimulating Dermal Fillers
Hyaluronic acid, a natural water-binding component of the skin, helps to stimulate collagen production by surrounding fibroblasts - the skin cells that produce collagen  - with plenty of water. As the skin ages, this important component of the skin also suffers a decline.

Researchers at the University of Michigan medical school found that Restylane injections (Restylanes key component is hyaluronic acid) not only stimulated the fibroblasts around them to increase collagen output, but also seemed to be protective of the existing collagen in the area as well. The two top hyaluronic acid dermal filler brands are Restylane and Juvederm, and they work by immediately filling the area to plump out lines and wrinkles. The effects of the filler are enhanced by the collagen stimulation, so patients tend to need repeat sessions less frequently.

Just like hyaluronic acid, poly-L-lactic acid or PLLA, has been shown to stimulate collagen growth. PLLA is a major component in Sculptra dermal fillers, which are injected deep into the dermal layer in a three-session treatment program which lasts up to two years. Sculptra has been proven to correct both collagen loss and fat atrophy, and is also FDA approved for AIDS patients who have severe cheek lipoatrophy (fat loss).

Radiesse, which has calcium hydroxylapatite as its collagen stimulating active ingredient, is another dermal filler that works very effectively in restoring volume in patients with deep lines or sagging skin. The effects of the collagen stimulation allows the volumising effect of Radiesse to last for about 12 months or more.

Laser and RF collagen stimulation
Collagen production slows with the aging process, but where the skin is injured, collagen production is increased as part of the skin healing process. Aesthetic equipment such as carbon dioxide and Fraxel lasers, and radiofrequency modalities such as Thermage and Ultherapy all work by subjecting the skin to controlled damage, so that collagen renewal can be stimulated. All of these methods work very well to tighten the skin and improve its appearance, although lasers are designed to stimulate regrowth on the surface and epidermal (top layer) areas, and radiofrequency skin tightening works in the deeper dermal areas for greater wrinkle and line rejuvenation.

diy printable tattoo paper | Facial Symmetry Do The Two Sides Of Your Face Match

,

diy printable tattoo paper

?????????????

Most people do not realise the importance of facial symmetry. If you draw a line directly down from the middle of your forehead down to your chin, the two sides of your face will most probably have some differences.

Photographer Julian Wolkenstein took pictures of many different people, and created a whole face out of the two sides of each persons face. The difference between the left side face and right side face of these people can be very obvious and pronounced, as you can see in these pictures.

Some scientists believe that facial symmetry is an indication of the effects of environment and nutrition during their growth and developmental stages. So, the more symmetrical the face, the more we find it to be attractive, because this indicates that the person is healthy and has good genes.

You can see the symmetry in the faces of these famous people -
