As a practicing aesthetic physician (or cosmetic doctor, which is the preferred term in the US), I am often approached by patients who are unhappy about the cost of aesthetic treatments we offer. Laser hair removal is an especially contentious market - there are so many players out there, offering a whole range of different modalities for hair removal, and it is especially hard for patients to understand what makes the price so varied in what is essentially the same service.


Laser treatments adhere especially well to the old adage "good things dont come cheap, and cheap things are no good." Heres why:

1. Standards of Service

When you go to a high end restaurant, you expect a certain level of service. There is a maitred or manager who is there to coordinate everything just as an orchestral conductor does. The wait staff are courteous, well-informed and helpful. The chef is often famous, well-trained and well-respected by his peers in his field. Of course, these standards of service are seen usually only at the most expensive and exclusive eateries.

Like the restaurant business, aesthetic treatments belong to the service industry. Similarly, aesthetic treatments come at a high price when the standard of service is set high. Professional medical qualification, aesthetic medical specialisation and equipment-specific training are just some of the costs a doctor will incur, and that doesnt include properly trained staff, which are one of the key components of a professional medical facility.

"Dont expect to pay economy class rates if you want first class service."?

 If you dont care if the person who is operating the laser is qualified, well-trained and experienced; if it doesnt matter if the rooms in which you are to be treated will be sanitary and comfortable; and if you arent concerned with the efficacy, safety and reliability of the equipment you are being treated with, then you will be happy with cheap laser treatments. I wonder if any of the patients who demand discounts would ever do the same at a fancy restaurant.


2. Professional Service

A professional, as the term implies, is someone who has put in a lot of time, money and effort into mastering his skill at his chosen profession, with the view to marketing his unique ability for the benefit of others.

 Any doctor who offers any service, be it a botox injection or a chemical peel or a laser rejuvenation treatment, will do so with his reputation and professional licence on the line. He risks his good name with every patient who leaves his office. As everyone knows, good news travels fast, but bad news surfs the internet!

Thats why someone who is in it for the long-haul will renovate his premises to accommodate his aesthetic practice, and invest a lot of time in research, seminars and training, as well as take the time to hone and perfect his skills.
Comparitively, establishments that offer bargain basement aesthetic treatments with wildly exorbitant claims rely not on professional reputation and experience, but depend on these cheap treatments to attract their clientele. I dont know which is worse: the salons that offer cheap and often unethical - and sometimes unlawful - treatments. or the unwise, gullible people who answer their ads.


3. Cost of Equipment

You wouldnt think it, but the cost of laser equipment can vary vastly from one to another, from top end machinery that sell for the price of a Mercedes, to those that cost about the same as a scooter.

A doctor who is serious about growing his aesthetic business will invest in professional, clinically tested and health-ministry approved equipment. The best machines, from the US, Europe and some from Korea, must be from companies with proven track records, backup service and who have done the R&D to ensure their products are safe, reliable and with properly designed guidelines of usage. All these add up to make the costs of machinery very expensive indeed.

The prohibitive cost of lasers means that doctors often turn to hire purchase companies to afford them, and this also adds to the cost of end user treatments. Add to this the costs of consumables and extra equipment that some machines require for their operation, and you can begin to understand the costs of treatments at aesthetic clinics.??

The beauty salons who offer hair removal at supermarket prices can afford to do so because they buy China-made machines, which cost as low as USD1000 - USD5000 each on Alibaba.com. Like a hundred dollar replica of an actual LV bag, you can never expect to get the same results and satisfaction from these machines compared to true professional equipment.

Patients will have to decide if the risk of complications are
worth the discounts with cheap aesthetic treatments. 

4. Quality Over Quantity

Some aesthetic clinics choose to offer cheap services and heavily discounted packages as a way of attracting patients, but they sacrifice the attention to detail, individualised service and commitment levels of a doctor who is truly dedicated to his craft. If a doctor charges USD100 per patient, he may only need to see 10 patients a day, and be able to spend more time with each. Someone charging USD20 per patient will need to see 50 patients so that he can recoup his expenses. The level of service patients at either spectrum receive of course differ, due to the time constraints and patient demands on the doctor.

When a patient is focused on minimising cost, a doctor cannot spend the time and effort necessary to give a truly optimised treatment. And unlike a cheap pair of shoes that can be discarded when they pinch your feet, a poor aesthetic treatment can cost you much more if a repair job needs to be done.



Just as doctors must maintain a certain fee for treatment due to the high costs involved in setting up and maintenance of an proper aesthetic establishment, so too must they adhere to market rules and adjust their prices so patients will still feel happy to come to them. So, most doctors are happy to offer reasonable prices, commensurate with the treatment offered. Just dont expect to pay economy class rates if you want first class service!

Salvadoran immigrants fleeing that nation’s civil war started MS-13 some years ago in Los Angeles.
Since then, the group has grown to about 10,000 members —most of them Central and South American immigrants —operating in largely independent chapters across 42 states, according to the FBI. Authorities allege MS-13 members engage in various criminal activities, including drug trafficking, murder, rape, robbery

and other crimes.

And MS-13 extends well beyond the United States, which is why many efforts to combat it have spanned borders.

In 2005, for instance, a two-day operation involving more than 6,400 government agents in the United States, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala and Mexico led to 660 arrests. Some 237 of those arrests were in El Salvador, with 73 in the United States.

And last October, President Barack Obama’s administration named the organization a transnational criminal enterprise, with the goal of freezing millions of dollars in profits from drug and sex trafficking operations.

However, “Molly” is also a nickname for MDMA. Many news outlets reported that the legendary pop singer was talking about drugs, not the song. Madonna responded by saying, “I dont support drug use and I never have.” Yet she brought it up, most likely to make her self more popular with the crowd. The article sites the increase in "Molly" use to "Indeed, many attribute MDMA’s resurgence to the return of Electronic Dance Music (or E.D.M.), the pulsating Euro beat that has infiltrated the

sound of pop radio acts like Rihanna, Kesha and Katy Perry. The article goes on to point out that the drug is not always Ecstasy and in fact can be very dangerous...According to Dr. Halpern, many of the powders sold as Molly contain no MDMA whatsoever; others are synthetic concoctions designed to mimic the drug’s effects, Mr. Payne said. Despite promises of greater purity and potency, Molly, as its popularity had grown, is now thought to be as contaminated as Ecstasy once was.

Regardless of where the interest, infatuation or reason for why the increased reference to "Molly" came from, is irrelevant. What is sure to occur though is that these references will certainly inspire young people to try Ecstasy and place many of them at risk for severe medial issues. Historically, fat reserves were the bodys insurance against starvation, so our fat cells were tuned to reserve as much energy as possible from the food we ingest. The fat stores on a post-liposuction patient are just redistributed to existing fat cells in other areas to make up for the reduced amount in the treatment sites. Having liposuction to reduce your problem areas does not mean diet and exercise are no longer important.

Liposuction alternatives - what options are available besides the surgical procedure?

Liposuction should not be performed  repeatedly on the same treatment area due to the formation of scar tissue. Other problems such as skin laxity and lumpy or uneven areas are also common after the surgery. Liposuction also cannot address concerns such as cellulite, and is not practical for slimmer people who have small fatty deposits.

The trend today is for non-surgical procedures such as cryolipolisis, soft laser lipolysis or ultrasonolipolysis as an alternative for or extra treatment option post-liposuction. In Europe, many also swear by carboxytherapy and mesotherapy, and new techniques that employ these methods are being explored and introduced on a regular basis. 

While these are exciting prospects for those who dont want to opt for or dont qualify for surgery, they cannot produce the instant results of a liposuction procedure, but often rely on repeated procedures or take time to show effects. Safety concerns are key with nonsurgical methods, and fat loss is slow to avoid complications such as skin or organ damage. The amount of fatty tissue treated is also limited as a sudden loss of too much fat can cause your body to go into shock. Most nonsurgical lipolysis (fat elimination) treatments are also dependent on the efficiency of the bodys metabolic system, as the treated fat is not manually removed as in surgical procedures, but purged from the body as part of its natural waste elimination process. A drawback of this extended recovery process is that it can be hard to see visible results.

BOSTON (LMI/SADD) – Many have heard the phrase coined among today’s teens, “Fear of Missing Out” (FoMO). While most perceive it as a harmless mantra for today’s hyper-connected youth, a new study released by Liberty Mutual Insurance and SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) reveals that the pressures of this “always-on” lifestyle have manifested in potentially deadly consequences behind the wheel. From maintaining full school and extracurricular schedules, to constant technology updates – it appears that teens are more hyper-connected and exhausted than ever. The new study finds that nearly half (48 percent) of teens report texting more when alone in the car – most often to update their parents. Just as concerning, 56 percent of teens have fallen asleep or nearly fallen asleep at the wheel – revealing the potential risky implications “FoMO” may have on today’s young drivers and signaling an important wake-up call needed for both parents and teens.

Teens Under Pressure to Stay Hyper-Connected 

Nearly 3,000 fatal crashes in 2013 were caused by distracted drivers, and 10 percent of those deaths were teens (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, NHTSA). From texting to apps and social media, today’s teens are faced with innumerable disruptions behind the wheel.

According to the survey, teens feel parents – more than anyone else – expect immediate replies to their text messages, even while driving. Fifty-five percent of teens report texting while driving in order to update their parents, and nearly one in five (19 percent) believe that their parents expect a text response within one minute, and 25 percent within five minutes – even while driving. However, the survey reveals a disconnect, as 58 percent of parents say they do not have set expectations on teens response time - showing a need for more open conversations about driving among parents and teens.

Connecting with parents isn’t the only distraction for young drivers. The survey also uncovers one-third (37 percent) of teens report texting to confirm or coordinate event details – another sign of their strong desire to stay connected. Additionally, one in three (34 percent) of teens take their eyes off the road when app notifications come in while driving, and an alarming number (88 percent) of teens who consider themselves “safe” drivers report using phone apps on the road.

Most popular apps teens report using behind the wheel include:

• Snapchat: 38 percent;
• Instagram: 20 percent;
• Twitter: 17 percent;
• Facebook: 12 percent; and
• YouTube: 12 percent.

“Today’s hyper-connected teens’ ‘fear of missing out’ can put young drivers at risk on the road as they may be more plugged into their devices than the actual driving task,” said Dr. William Horrey, Ph.D., principal research scientist at the Liberty Mutual Research Institute for Safety. “Teens may be at higher risk because they don’t always have the attentional capacity to deal with all the complexities on the road. These distractions in addition to fatigue may be even more significant with teens due to their relative driving inexperience as well. It’s so important for parents and teens to recognize and talk about these dangerous distractions to ensure better safety behind the wheel.”

Dangers Beyond Digital: “Always On” Lifestyle can Lead to Drowsy Driving 

Technology behind the wheel isn’t the only peril stemming from teens’ “FoMO.” Teens’ reluctance to “miss out” and an “always-on” lifestyle are creating drowsy young drivers – and the new data shows parents are largely unaware of this danger: While 61 percent of parents believe their teens get enough sleep, 52 percent of teens get less than six hours of sleep each night during the week. Even more, nearly three quarters (70 percent) of teens admit to driving while tired – making them less attentive and delaying reaction times. Among the parents who think their teens don’t rest enough, 51 percent attribute it to them staying up to read text messages and notifications – revealing signs of “FoMO” infringing on sleep. With an estimated 100,000 crashes and 1,550 fatalities annually directly resulting from driver fatigue (NHTSA) – it’s critical that parents and teens alike receive a wake-up call on this dangerous threat.

“Today’s parents are juggling their own busy schedules, and too often young drivers’ risky habits go unrecognized,” said Stephen Gray Wallace, senior advisor for policy, research and education at SADD. “It’s critical that parents focus on pinpointing these dangerous driving habits early on – from drowsy driving to technology use behind the wheel – and have frequent conversations with their children about what safe driving really means.”

Many don’t realize the effects of drowsy driving are similar to driving under the influence. After simply 18 hours awake, cognitive impairment equates to blood alcohol content (BAC) of .05 percent, and after 24 hours awake up to a BAC of .10 percent – higher than the legal limit in all states (according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention).

The study revealed that more than half of teens reported falling asleep or nearly falling asleep at the wheel – with the leading culprits being:

• Busy schedule (extracurricular, school, etc.): 43 percent;
• Staying up late completing homework: 32 percent;
• Staying up late for social activities: 24 percent;
• Working late hours during the week: 20 percent; and
• Being tired or hung over from drinking/partying the night before: 10 percent.

Parents and teens must recognize the dangerous implications of today’s hyper-connected and overscheduled teens and implement ways to reduce these risks on the road. Liberty Mutual Insurance and SADD commissioned ORC International to conduct a qualitative and quantitative methodology to measure teen driving attitudes and behaviors. The study was initiated with a series of focus groups held in Chicago, IL and Washington, D.C. from October 28 – October 29, 2014, followed by a survey among 1,622 eleventh and twelfth graders from across the country. Overall the findings from the study can be interpreted at a 95 percent confidence interval with an error margin of +/- 2.23 percent. Error margins for subsets such as licensed drivers will be wider. Additionally, the study surveyed 1,000 parents of high school aged teenage drivers, providing an overall error margin of +/- 2.94 percent.

Finding drugs or alcohol in a child’s room can be cause for alarm – but not counterproductive overreaction – for parents. Previously, we looked at factors a parent can use to determine whether to seek outside help for a child’s potential addiction. This week we’ll consider what parents should do once they have decided to address the child’s potential addiction.

First and foremost, says Mary Egan, director of outreach at Rosecrance Health Network, parents should stand firm against pressure from their child or other family members or friends to avoid taking action. “The most dangerous course of action is to do nothing and chalk it up as a teenage rite of passage,” says Egan, adding that the initial conversation with the teen about the seriousness and consequences of drug use is an important first step — but only a first step. After that initial conversation, parents need to create a course of action to communicate consequences for alcohol and drug use.

“In a firm but caring manner, parents need to explain that alcohol and drug use are illegal and unhealthy and can result in problems at home, school and with the law, and can potentially result in substance abuse and addiction,” says Egan. She emphasizes that parents should always seek out a professional consultation about what is going on in their child’s life, especially when drugs, alcohol or paraphernalia are found in the home.

Still, teens may work extra hard to convince their parents that they don’t have a problem, often playing one parent against the other or trying to make their parents feel guilty about  their concern and plan of action. “A substance abuser will use emotional manipulation to hijack a parent’s normal response to evaluate the seriousness of the substance use,” says Egan. “For example, a teen might say they promise to quit but then just get sneakier.” Egan says teens often say they have just “experimented” without divulging the full extent of use to avoid parents’ disappointment.

Sending the right message

It’s important that a child has a clear understanding of his or her parents’ position on drug and alcohol use, says Mary Roufa, manager of community services and support for Rosecrance, which is why it’s especially important for parents to take action if they feel that a teen’s drug or alcohol use is a cause for concern.

“Not addressing the issue will be interpreted by the adolescent that it is OK. Explain to your child that this is a serious health issue and that you care about the child too much to let it slide,” says Roufa. “Overreacting by yelling and name calling, and then not taking any course of action or grounding them forever can produce the opposite reaction from what the parent intended. It can cause your child to rebel against your authority or to retreat further into substance abuse.”

For many family members, the very idea of asking a third party to get involved in a loved one’s potential drug addiction can be difficult, especially when a child promises to quit. “Many parents want to believe that their child is just experimenting because the alternative is a very scary thought,” Egan says. “Seeking outside help is important to evaluate the extent of the problem. However, uncertainty about what steps to take, shame about what people will think, or guilt that ‘I somehow caused this behavior in my child’ or fear that it might really be a problem are common roadblocks.”

Parents should work with the resources available to them, including school counselors, family doctors and other appropriate individuals. Also, the addiction counselor plays an important role. In addition to providing some possible guidance, an addiction counselor can reinforce to your child that you’re serious about dealing with his or her potential addiction.

I have read this quote oh so many times, regardless of your political affiliation, your like or dislike for the person who spoke it, you can not argue with the words and the meaning that stands behind them. In the past few weeks we have seen much of the two toned lack in understanding of the precept of personal accountability and law.

What would have happened in these three very high profile incidents in which people lost their lives and these incidents were the catalyst for the #Blacklivesmatter movement. 

Lets start with:

• Michael Brown, yes anyones death is tragic. Life is a very precious gift and for someone young, to have their life ended so abruptly is sad. That being said had personal accountability been taken in by Michael Brown then this incident would most not likely have occurred and on
  
  that day, Michael Brown would not have encountered Ofc Darren Wilson....Had Michael brown not made the personal decision to steal " several packages of cigarillos from a nearby convenience store and shoved the store clerk. Brown was accompanied by his friend Dorian Johnson. Officer Wilson had been notified by police dispatch of the robbery and descriptions of the two suspects. "  Then they two would not have met that day. The circumstances that unfolded after the theft occurred would not have brought these to men in contact on that day in August of 2014.   
  
  
  Quick points to remember, yes a law was broken, Law Enforcement Officers are supposed to enforce laws, they are not supposed to pick and chose which ones they enforce.  The actions of the individual, i.e., the person who committed the crime are part of the circumstances that placed the two men to cross paths. Third, we do know that systemic issues were present in Ferguson that may have contributed to the distrust and fear in the community when encountering a Law Enforcement Officer. Ferguson PD, was working not from a public safety perspective but from a revenue based side of policing as detailed in the DOJ report from March of 2015. 
  
  
  A final report by the Department of Justice about the way Ferguson PD handled themselves is scathing and clearly shows systemic failures from the City down to the Chief of Police, to line officers which what contributed to the unrest, protest and the birth of a movement. 

• Eric Garner, although race was clearly brought into the issue, the death of Eric Garner is more a lack of good quality training and recognition of positional asphyxia, than race. This will be addressed shortly.
  
  We do know that on March 27, a caller to the city’s 311 hotline complained about the issue, of the sale of "loosely" cigarettes, saying a group of men had been selling untaxed cigarettes, and sometimes marijuana, on Bay St. every day for the past three years, a second source said.  The caller identified one of the sellers as “a man named Eric.”  The next day, Garner was arrested
  
  for selling untaxed cigarettes, one of three pending cases before his death.  Sometime in early July, a memo was sent to the Staten Island borough command, a source said. The memo stressing the need to address quality-of-life issues was then forwarded to bosses in the 120th Precinct for “immediate attention,” according to the source.
   
  Prior to Eric Garners death, roughly two weeks, Eric Garner had a run in with NYPD, in this incident it played out similarly as the arrest on the day of his death. He flailed his arms and refused to be arrested. But in this incident the Officers, one of which was present on the day of his death, let him go with a warning, without incident.
  We do know that Eric Garner had stated he was "tired of being harassed.", "this stops now", are all which was heard on the video taken by his friend. The pictures above clearly show know Eric Garner was clearly taller and much bigger than the Officers present. Garner is also seen on video flailing his arms. Clearly NOT in an attempt to strike or hurt the Officers, but possibly to prevent himself from being arrested as in the previous incident. Eric Garner was not a small person standing at 62", weighing 395 lbs he had size and weight as a factor that may have been contributory. Not only to his attempted arrest, but also his untimely death.  His death was more an issue of lack of property training and positional asphyxia than of police brutality or unlawful arrest.
  
  Absolutely Officers involved in the incident were culpable in Eric Garners death. Did the officers act with will full disregard for Mr. Garners safety? No. As was stated earlier Mr. Garner previously acted in a manner in which he in the previous incident was non-complaint and resistant to the Officers. The Officer involved in that incident was also present at the time Mr. Garner died. So prior knowledge of behavior, Eric Garners unwillingness to comply with lawful orders, the increased request for law enforcement action being instituted from the District Commander all created a perfect storm for this incident to reach its tragic end.

• Walter Scott, many of my Law Enforcement brothers and sisters will most likely cringe at what I am going to say, but this was a cold blooded murder. So what occurred? Officer Slager stopped Mr Scott for a third taillight out, while driving a 1991 Mercedes, in the parking lot of an auto parts store. Slager approaches the car, has a conversation with Mr. Scott and then Slager goes back to his patrol vehicle. It is at that time that Mr. Scott exits his car and starts to run. Slager gives chandelier on foot and deploys a taser, which does not appear to work.it is that time that Slager shoots at Mr. Scott a total of eight times, hitting him five times. Slager put out over his radio,"Shots fired, suspect down, he tried to take my taser..." Slager approaches Mr. Scott giving orders to put his hands behind his back, Slager eventually handcuffs Mr. Scott. This is all caught on video. Slager then goes back to where he starting shooting and picks up something, possibly his Taser. He is later seen on tape a short time later dropping something on the grown, which is suspected to be his taser. There are other things wrong including that officers on scene allegedly reported they performed CPR, but that is not seen on tape.
  
  Okay my opinion...Officer Slager, killed Walter Scott? There was no reason to shoot a man running on foot, unarmed away from a confrontation. As a matter of fact case law going back to 1985, which is taught in every law enforcement academy in the country clearing addresses it, the case is Tennessee vs Garner.
  
  Justice White delivered this ruling for the Supreme Court - This case requires us to determine the constitutionality of the use of deadly force to prevent the escape of an apparently unarmed suspected felon. We conclude that such force may not be used unless it is necessary to prevent the escape and the officer has probable cause to believe that the suspect poses a significant threat of death or serious physical injury to the officer or others. - See more of the Case Law
  
  The death of this man is definitely not acceptable, but the question is does he bear some burden on the circumstances that unfolded? Walter Scott had a bench warrant for $18,000 for failure to pay child support. http://www.nbcnews.com/storyline/walter-scott-shooting/walter-scott-shooting-warrant-over-child-support-court-records-show-n339151. It was also reported that Mr. Scott had cocaine and alcohol in his system at the time of his death. Could alcohol and drugs contributed to poor decision making on Mr. Scotts part? Perhaps. Could the warrant, and fear of going to jail contributed to his fleeing as well. In reality it does matter, Officer Slager was not under the influence of any illegal substances, he was not physically injured, a fleeing unarmed person does not pose a threat to his safety. The incident did not reach the burden of the "Fleeing Felon" doctrine.
  
  Most of all the action of the Officer does not meet the standard of human decency and to the Officers own Oath of Office. Its such a shame, that his actions have triggered such hatred towards Police Officers, but at the same time, it shines a light on an issue facing policing in this Century, that Some people just should not be Police Officers.

I raised specific issues with all three cases, all of which had a significant impact on the anti-police, #blacklivesmatter movement. All of which for very specific reasons either fueled by failure to properly address community concerns, a lack of connectivity to the community as a whole, or failure to be properly train or be trained in situations that can be fatal or in at the least potentially fatal. 

As I was conducting research on this posting, I came across this story about Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman. 

• Seattle Seahawks star cornerback Richard Sherman addressed an imposter Wednesday who made a social media post in his name that garnered attention. The social media post claiming to be Sherman responded to an image posted on black supremacist King Noble’s site of Sherman with his arm around teammate Marshawn Lynch with the caption, “When we gon Kill These KKKrakas Bro."  He addressed this issue quickly with the following statement...
  "But I also think that there’s a way to go about things, and there’s a way to do things. And I think the issue at hand needs to be addressed internally, and before we move on, because from personal experience, you know, you have living in the hood, living in the inner city, you deal with things, you deal with people dying. Dealt with a best friend getting killed … it was two 35-year-old black men. Wasn’t no police officer involved, wasn’t anybody else involved, and I didn’t hear anybody shouting “black lives matter” then … and I think that’s the point we need to get to is that we need to deal with our own internal issues before we move forward and start pointing fingers and start attacking other people. We need to solidify ourselves as people and deal with our issues, because I think as long as we have black-on-black crime and, you know, one black man killing another … if black lives matter, then it should matter all the time. You should never let somebody get killed — that’s somebody’s son, that’s somebody’s brother, that’s somebody’s friend. So you should always keep that in mind." (Source)

I applaud his openness, because as he is shining the light on the internal issues facing his own community, race and culture we too in Law Enforcement must do the same thing. The "Blue Wall" is something we too in Law Enforcement must open up too. 

There are people that have come into the Law Enforcement field who came into this field not because it is a "calling" but because its a job and that it pays the bills. Many can not compartmentalize their own personal bias, issues or failings, while doing the job, and over time that begins to bubble to the surface.  When that happens, coupled with poor training, poor tactics and poor planning it can lead to tragic results. As Officers who came into this job for the right reasons, who have a commitment to the agency, the community and our code of conduct we can not allow the "Blue Wall" to continue. 

We need to be willing to shine the light just a strongly as our own agency and its members when they fail, do wrong or are corrupt, just like when we shine our flashlight in that dark alley when we are chasing a Perp. Be honest with yourself, are you the type of police officer who says, "Its Us against Them", we took the oath of office to uphold the law, not look the opposite way when it involves one of our own. When we can do that as an entire group, nationwide, then we will rebuild the distrust that has been building for decades against us.
