Fardon sat down for his first interview since assuming the powerful law enforcement post about a month ago.

Fardon also said he disagreed with Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s comments last month that federal prosecutors had a horrible record when it came to charging gun crimes in the city, and that he “told him as much” in a conversation they had after the comments were published in the Sun-Times.
“I don’t think that’s fair, and I respectfully disagree with the mayor,” Fardon said. He said the two have since had a “perfectly positive, cordial conversation” about the issue.
